Twin creates a clone of itself that mirrors its movements, effectively giving you two slimes on the field simultaneously. The clone can headbutt the ball independently, doubling your coverage and creating two-on-one situations. At 40 mana, the clone is a significant commitment, but having two bodies on the field transforms both offense and defense by covering angles that a single slime never could.
